Filmgate is delighted to announce that the work on Arn: The Knight Templar has been completed. This is the biggest feature film project in Scandinavia to date and Filmgate is very proud to have been selected as the single Scandinavian supplier of the digital visual effects.

Arn: The Knight Templar is based on the trilogy, written by Jan Guillou, about the fictional Swedish Knight Templar Arn Magnusson. The production will result in two separate Swedish films that also will be edited together into one film for the international market.

In December 2007 Arn: The Knight Templar had the biggest opening weekend in Scandinavian movie history and has to this date had over one million cinema goers.

The film production is headed by Svensk Filmindustri in conjunction with Film i Väst, TV4 (Sweden), Danmarks Radio (Denmark), YLE (Finland), TV 2 (Norway) and Telepool (Germany). With a total budget of around US$30,000,000 for the whole production, it is the most expensive production in Scandinavian film history.
