Police detective Maria Wern is in her mid-thirties, recently became a widow and is now a single mom with two small children. Her cases often evolve around current topics in the public debate (pandemic flu, domestic violence, psychiatric reform, environmental issues, etc). The dramatic focus of the series is more on suspense than on violence and car chases. All scenarios take place on the island of Gotland, well known for its beautiful and dramatic landscape.

Filmgate provided a lighthouse for this film. We also fixed the continuity of the set by adding rain and fog for several shots.
