Filmgate provided the Visual Effects for  "Hideaways". This is a French/Irish Swedish co-production and represents Filmgate Films first European co-production as co-producers. The Last Furlong is directed by Agnès Merlet and written by Nick Murphy.

Filmgate created photorealistic 3D effects depicting dying and resurrecting fauna and flora. These complicated effects from Filmgate will involve matte paintings, set extension, falling leaves and falling dead birds in 3d!

James Furlong, played by Harry Treadaway, is the last in a long line of Furlongs who were blessed or cursed with a strange ability. From the moment of his violent birth, involving the death of his mother, his life seems ill-fated, but it is unclear what kind of ability, if any, he possesses. James is raised by his father and grandmother, but when they are killed by coincidence James is sent to St Judes reformatory. As a teenager James meets this girl called Mae, played by Rachel Hurd-Wood, who is terminal ill. This is a story about two young people, both outside society, and how they fall in love.
