Filmgate are very excited to announce that we will be working on the remake of Graham Greene's classic novel Brighton Rock, starring the Academy award winning actress Helen Mirren ("The Queen", "State of Play", "The Madness of King George") and the very versatile John Hurt (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, Hellboy II: The Golden Army , The Elephant Man and of course Alien) as well as up and coming actors Sam Riley ( "Control", "Franklyn") and Andrea Riseborough ("Mad, Sad and Bad", "Magicians").

The Film is produced by Paul Webster for Kudos Pictures and will be the directorial debut of Writer / Director Rowan Joffe ("A Very Private Gentleman", "28 Weeks Later"). Filming will start in mid October.

Joffe's aim is to make this adaption of the classic novel as contemporary as possible, because the story feels modern and too alive, vibrant and relevant to be contained in the late thirties. Filmgate will help recreate the 1960's environment, through retouching, matte paintings and 3d modeling.

This will be Filmgate's 6th UK production and we look forward to getting started with this challenging and exciting project.
